Join our professional team of river guides and support staff for Colorado River Discovery’s 2017 season! CRD rafts Glen Canyon from March 1st – November 30th each year. We are currently seeking applicants for employment during this period.

Colorado River Discovery is an authorized concessioner of the National Park Service/Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and offers smooth water float trips on the Colorado River below the Glen Canyon Dam near Page, AZ.

RIVER GUIDES: Looking for a great job this summer? CRD’s river guides deliver interpretive float trips on a beautiful smooth-water stretch of the Colorado River. Many positions available!

Guides are responsible for safely transporting up to 22 passengers down the river on a motorized raft in a safe, punctual, and fun manner. No experience necessary! All training is provided regardless of prior experience. Colorado River Discovery will train all guides on river navigation, general interpretation, company policy,  and CRD partnerships.
While guiding for CRD, employees are required to have a core knowledge of river navigation, raft troubleshooting, and interpretation (including but not limited to: geology, human and natural history, flora, fauna, conservation, and hydrology).
Guides interact with guests of all ages from many different cultures each day. Our value/mission statement is “Raft the river that we love!” this mission should be exemplified in the performance of all our employees—especially the River Guides.

CDL BUS DRIVERS: Bus drivers are responsible for providing safe transportation of guests to and from the river; some interpretation of resources is required. CRD will train in interpretation. Drivers must have a minimum of a Class B passenger-endorsement, airbrake license. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, and pass background and drug/alcohol screening. Drivers must also be personable and provide top-notch customer service. Drivers must be reliable and responsible. Wages are competitive among regional transportation providers.

RIVER’S END CAFE/KITCHEN: Kitchen and cafe staff prepares and presents high-quality food and coffee for our guests. Staff must pass background and drug/alcohol screening. Kitchen staff is responsible for daily food preparation; operating kitchen equipment; and daily clean-up. Cafe staff is responsible for daily food and coffee presentation; operating cash register and point of sale; and all daily clean-up. Cafe staff must be at least 18 years old. Both kitchen and cafe staff will be required to obtain a valid Coconino County Food Handlers card. All necessary training will be provided. Staff is required to be customer focused, friendly, and organized. Wage is hourly, and is competitive within the food industry.

CUSTOMER SERVICE/RESERVATIONS: Colorado River Discovery’s Customer Service Associates and Reservationists give out information about our trips, take reservations, collect payments, greet and check-in guests upon arrival, help retail staff with sales, restocking, and store upkeep, take and give out messages, and are generally the center of activity of the company. If you like knowing everything that is going on, this is the place to be! This is a mentally demanding position, as there is a lot of information going out and it has to be right all-the-time. Excellent customer skills are essential, as is the ability to do more than one thing at a time.
