Raft/Helicopter Tour

Colorado River Discovery and Grand Canyon Helicopters are excited to provide a package trip that gives you the opportunity to experience the beauty of Glen Canyon from two perspectives, by water and by air. Take a helicopter tour of Lake Powell and other surrounding areas and enjoy a rafting trip through Glen Canyon Dam.

Page Arizona Helicopter Tour

Your helicopter adventure will begin at Page Municipal Airport, located at 238 10th Avenue in Page, AZ  to check in with our friends at Grand Canyon Helicopters and be given a brief orientation. After boarding your state-of-the-art helicopter, you will fly eastward over Antelope Canyon, the Navajo Nation and Lake Powell as your helicopter ascends Tower Butte, which stands 5, 000 feet above sea level. You won’t believe your eyes when you touch down and disembark.

The 360-degree panoramic view is absolutely breathtaking. See Glen Canyon, Lake Powell, the Kaiparowits Plateau, the Grand and the Vermillion Cliffs. Guests will enjoy approximately 20 minutes on the Butte for sensational photo opportunities and interpretive information about the Navajo culture and the area. Only accessible by helicopter, this adventure offers incredible memories, spectacular photographs and bragging rights to an exclusive view of the American Southwest and the Navajo Nation.

Glen Canyon River Rafting Trip

Your river rafting trip will begin at the Colorado River Discovery Welcome Center. Upon check in you will be treated with a delicious Bistro lunch and then be given a brief orientation. River trips begin with an exciting ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. With the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a motorized raft for your journey downstream, where you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States.

While underway, your experienced guide will tell the area’s story of soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, former inhabitation by native cultures, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell, and the Colorado River’s modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.

Your trip will also include a stop to view ancient petroglyphs left by Ancestral Puebloan peoples. The Colorado River rafting portion of your trip ends at Glen Canyon Dam, where you will board our vehicle for the short ride back to the Welcome Center in Page.
