Colorado River Discovery offers tours on the spectacular fifteen miles of Colorado River between Glen Canyon Dam, just outside Page, Arizona, and historic Lees Ferry, gateway to the Grand Canyon (see trip map).
These are smoothwater float trips perfect for the entire family (ages four years and older). This is one of the most popular trips in all of the Grand Canyon region and northern Arizona!
In addition to our standard half day trips, Colorado River Discovery will offer a full-day rowing trip option.
Our Very Popular Half-Day Rafting Trip
From May 1 through September 30, we will offer two daily raft departures at 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. In October and November, we will offer one raft trip per day departing at 11:00 a.m.
The half day rafting adventures will include water and lemonade aboard each of the rafts. Our Bistro bag lunches can be purchased at the River’s End Café and are a great way to enjoy a great meal on the Colorado River.
Please come to our rafting headquarters at least 30 minutes before your tour departure time to check in. We require a minimum of six full-fare passengers to launch a trip. If the minimum is not reached, all guests will receive a full refund.
All Colorado River Discovery river trips begin with an exciting ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. With the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a motorized pontoon raft for your journey downstream, where you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States.
While underway, your experienced guide will tell the area’s story of soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife, former inhabitation by native cultures, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell, and the Colorado River's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.
Your trip will also include a stop to view ancient petroglyphs left by Ancestral Puebloan peoples. The Colorado River rafting portion of your trip ends at historic Lees Ferry, where you will board our vehicle for the short ride back to the Page.
