WHY HELIOS MATTERS
With the unique environment of the Colorado River as a constant reminder to protect and conserve our natural resources, Colorado River Discovery vowed to make a change in daily river operations. And after nearly a decade of research and development, we are thrilled to unveil Helios, the first 100% electric raft on the Colorado River. Helios produces zero emissions, exponentially reducing waste products that could pollute the environment or disrupt the climate. Helios also provides a much more intimate experience, by reducing noise pollution through the use of electric motor propulsion. Colorado River Discovery will provide exclusive, eco-friendly trips for the public on the Colorado River within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to our partners in this very important project, the National Park Service at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the amazing engineers at Torqeedo.
1 Person, 1 Day, 1% for the Planet
Here at Colorado River Discovery we are acutely aware of the importance of reducing consumption. We are committed to implementing programs and projects that will contribute to sustaining the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The fate of our Planet is in the hands of future generations. Colorado River Discovery understands how important it is to continue research and education in the fields of science, engineering, and sustainability. We will donate $10 for each participant on every Helios trip to that continued effort.
Colorado River Discovery has partnered with Northern Arizona University's School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Sustainability. $10 for each participant on every Helios trip will be donated to the Colorado River Discovery Research Award.
Helios trips are exclusive,
eco-friendly full canyon river trips.
Helios, the first ALL ELECTRIC RAFT of its kind, will provide intimate trips three days weekly on the Colorado River in Glen Canyon. The use of electric motor propulsion produces zero emissions and achieves a nearly silent running motor, reducing noise pollution.
