1. When Is the Best Time of Year to Go Rafting with Colorado River Discovery?
We find that early spring through early fall is the best time of year to go.  Please see the trip schedules section of this website, or give us a call.
2. Do I Need Any River Experience?
Rafting the Colorado in Glen Canyon is considered a smoothwater trip. No whitewater will be encountered, so this trip is perfect for the entire family and people of all abilities.
3. How Far In Advance Must I Make Reservations To Go Rafting With Colorado River Discovery?
The general rule of thumb is to book as early as possible to ensure that you get the dates and start times you like best.  If you would like to book an entire boat for a large group, please call 888-522-6644 to speak with our group reservations specalist.  Colorado River Discovery also takes bookings by telephone, online, or in person at our headquarters in Page, Arizona. We invite you to walk-in if you are interested in a same-day trip.  We do require a 6 full-fare passengers to launch a trip.  Should the minimum not be reached, the trip willbe cancelled.  Anyone already booked for the trip will recieve a 100% refund and an opportunity to re-book for another trip.
4. Are There Rafting Opportunities For People With Disabilities?
At Colorado River Discovery, we are committed to making the Colorado River in Glen Canyon accessible to everyone, including those with mobility or sensory impairments. Ultimately, your safety and well-being are the key ingredients to making your outing successful. If you have questions as to how we can help you or someone with a disability discover the Colorado River, please call our office at 888-522-6644.  We will do everything reasonable, within the bounds of safety, to assist those with disabilities to experience our rafting trips.
5. What Are Your Age Requirements?
We like to think, at Colorado River Discovery, we can accommodate almost anyone who wants to experience this opportunity. Therefore, we offer the trip to all visitors aged 4 years and older.  If you have questions about taking your younger kids on one of our rafting trips, please give us a call at 888-522-6644 to talk things over.
6. What Do I Need To Bring?
Be prepared to go rafting and spending the day outside. Conditions on the river change throughout the year, so we ask you to dress for the season (up to 105 degrees Farenheit in summer; down to 45 degrees Farenheit in the spring and fall).  In general, a brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm and shoes that can get wet and sandy, are musts for the adventure!   You may bring a lunch or you can purchase lunch items at the Colorado River Discovery store.  Lastly, bring a great attitude and be prepared to really enjoy the day.
7. What If I Can’t Swim?
Since this is a smoothwater trip, we do not anticipate a situation where you might end up in the water.  We do provide USCG-approved life jackets, and our guides are trained in water-rescue. While life jackets are optional for adults, wearing a lifejacket is mandatory for children, twelve years old and younger, at all times while the boats are underway.
